Water, Water, Everywhere!

Hi all!  Richland Library is CLOSED AGAIN...due to water in the basement and closed roadways.  We hope to reopen on Friday - September 8 at 12:30pm.  We look forward to seeing everyone at our annual Silent Auction on Saturday at 6:00pm.  The Auction WILL go on!  We WILL celebrate the 125 years that the Richland Library has been serving the community.  We WILL have lots of great food from Adrian's Pizza and Guy's Diner.

Library CLOSED

The library will be CLOSED until further notice due to water damage.  Books can be returned in the outside drop box.  Sorry for the inconvenience....

Senior Spaces Survey!

The Richland Library was recently awarded a Senior Spaces grant. We were one of only 6 libraries to receive this grant. It will allow us the funding to create a space within the library for senior citizens and baby boomers to come and have a place they feel is their own. In order for us to purchase items for our Senior Space that would interest the general populace, we ask that you answer this survey if you are in this Senior Age Group. Your honest completion of this survey will ensure that Richland Library's new Senior Space is as great as can be! Just click the link, log into Facebook, and get started! Lindsay Barrett George

We are pleased to announce that award winning children's author and illustrator, Lindsay Barrett George will be joining us at the on August 24th at 3:00pm!  Join us for a book signing and reading.

This event is part of Benjamin Zug's Eagle Scout Project.  His project includes, updating the library's database and promoting the importance of reading and libraries in our community. 

Paging Through Time - 125 Years

Make plans to join us on September 10, 2011 at 6:00pm for the annual Silent Auction at the library.  This year we will be featuring an autographed football and game tickets from Joe Paterno's 400th Penn State win along with other local craft items and gift certificates.  Refreshments are provided by Adrian's Pizza and Guy's Diner.  Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the door.  It wil lbe a night to remember!

Flying into Summer!

This week for our summer reading program, we set up a green screen and took pictures of the kids on a "magic carpet." Then, using a computer program, we were able to make a picture of them flying over a building in Pakistan! This went great with our theme this week, learning about schools and travel in foreign countries. We e-mailed the kids their pictures, so that they can always have a memory of the fun had right here at the Richland Library! Check out some of the pictures!
